Chester scores 9th goal, leads golden boot race in Mozambique
Yamikani Chester continues to shine in his first season at UD Songo after scoring his 9th goal of the season as the league leaders beat Baia de Pemba 0-2 in the Mocambola League in Mozambique on Friday afternoon.
The former Mighty Wanderers and Mighty Tigers winger found the back of the net in the 34th minute to put Songo ahead at half time before Vitinho doubling the scores midway in the second half to secure the win.
The win means Songo has opened a 17-point gap on top of the League as they have 44 points from 14 wins, two draws and one defeat in the League while defending champions, Black Bulls come second with 27 points from 14 games.
Chester now leads the golden boot race as he has 9 goals in the League, one above his teammate, Luis Miquissone, who has 8 goals in the League.
Meanwhile, his counterpart Richard Mbulu missed his second straight match since returning from Flames due to injury.
