Lions roar past Jenda to maintain lead
Red Lions maintained their perfect run in the League after claiming their 6th straight win with a comfortable 3-0 win over winless Jenda United at the Balaka Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Mphatso Magaleta netted twice in each half before Brown Gondwe adding another to extend their number of points on top of the League standings.
Head coach for the Lions, Malumbo Mkandawire, was excited with the result. "We are happy that we have won despite that it was hard to find goals in the first half but we came strong in the second half. We are happy to win."
Head coach for Jenda, Uchizi Nkunika, described the result as disappointing. "It's very painful to travel a long distance and claim this kind of result. We conceded in the first half but then we managed to hold them until final minutes when we lost it again."
The win took Lions up to 18 points from 6 wins and one defeat while Jenda remain bottom of the table with no point from 7 games.
