Mhango delivers as Junior Flames stun Zambia to reach COSAFA final
Deadly forward, Mwisho Mhango, scored two more goals to inspire Malawi Under 20 into the final of the COSAFA Youth Championship after beating beating Zambia Under 20 2-1 in Namibia on Friday afternoon.
The Junior Flames were already ahead after Mhango beat three players before finding the back of the net with a powerful shot with just three minutes of the clock but Billy Daka headed home on 40th minute to level the scores going to break.
In the second half, Malawi started well as well as they kept on knocking but Zambia remained solid until being pressurised just after the hour mark and Mhango scored a beauty from a free kick on 69th minute to seal the victory.
After the game, Millias Pofera Jegwe was happy with the win saying he told his boys to fight hard and they got a result they wanted from the game.
"It was a tough match and we knew it would be that but we fought hard so that we claim a win, we missed one of
our players on the midfield but we made a make-shift which worked and I'm happy because when Zambia faced Malawi, they knew they have already progressed but this time we said it was enough." Said Jegwe.
The team will face South Africa in the final on Sunday which beat Angola 2-0 in another semi final and Jegwe said he will comment later about that game but it is time to celebrate their massive win.
