Ndirande Stars fail to shine
Ndirande Stars failed to keep their lead as they were forced to their second consecutive home draw in the League in a 1-1 draw against Chilumba Barracks at the Mpira Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday afternoon.
Madalitso Geoffrey fired Stars ahead inside the opening 20 minutes to lead at half time but Maforino Clement levelled the scores to snatch a vital away point for the soldiers.
Assistant coach for the hosts, Robert Daudi, expressed his disappointment over the result but hopes the team will Bank their first win soon.
"It was a good game, we played very well but we lacked a killer punch to finish the game. We have no win in three matches, its worrisome but we will try to fix things and results will come." Said Daudi.
Meanwhile, head coach for the soldiers, Silent Mkandawire, was happy to see his team recording their first point of the League away from home.
"I told the boys that we are winless and also we have come a long way from Karonga so if
we don't win, we should fight for a draw so I'm happy that we have a point in our bag now." Said Mkandawire.
Ndirande Stars are 9th with two points from three matches in the League while Barracks are 10th with one point from one draw and two defeats in the League.
