PHODO, NYASULU AND MWAKASINGA NOMINATED FOR CASTEL CUP BEST PLAYER
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets duo, Maxwell Gasten Phodo and Innocent Nyasulu, will compete for the Castel Challenge Cup player of the tournament accolade alongside Goshen City Dedza Dynamos' goalkeeper Donnex Mwakasinga.
Football Association of Malawi has released the names of the nominees for several accolades after their impressive performances in the competition.
Phodo, who will claim the golden boot award with 7 goals, delivered a masterpiece performance to help Bullets lift the trophy just as Nyasulu on goals while Mwakasinga got two man of the match awards enroute to the final which they lost to Bullets in the final.
Meanwhile, Nyasulu and Mwakasinga will battle it out for the best goalkeeper alongside Precious Masamba of Blue Eagles while on the best discovery, Lameck Mithi of Moyale Barracks will go head to head with Isaac Msiska of Mzuzu City Hammers.

Sanudi misses penalty as 9-man Hammers knock out Wanderers
Mighty Wanderers were just two minutes away from reaching the semi finals of the Castel Challenge Cup but conceded late before Stanley Sanudi missing a penalty after suffering a 5-3 penalty shootout defeats over Mzuzu City Hammers at the Rumphi Stadium on Sunday.
The Nomads scored from the spot in the 50th minute through Isaac Kaliati before Matthews Banda and Jimmy Msiska all picking second yellow cards for Hammers to stay with 9 players in the pitch but substitute Hassan Luwembe scored a 95th minute penalty to take the game into penalties.
In the shootout, Hassan Luwembe, Isaiah Nyirenda, Alex Orotomal, Aubrey Simbi and Jeremiah Kanyika all scored their kicks for Hammers and Blessings Singini, Sama Thierry Tanjong and Blessings Mwalilino converted for the Nomads but Sanudi's was saved to send the Nomads to off-season.
The Elite League relegated side has been a giant slayer as they also knocked out Silver Strikers in the round of 16 and also beat FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in the semi finals last season.
Hammers have completed the semi final ties as they will face Bullets again in the semi finals while Goshen City Dedza Dynamos will date Blue Eagles in another semi final match.
