Chitipa claim first win at Chitipa Stadium
Chitipa United continue to enjoy their recent form in the TNM Super League after finishing the first round with a 1-0 win over Blue Eagles to record their first ever elite League win at the Chitipa Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Basongo had not tested an defeat in their last 7 games prior to the game while conceding just one goal Nelson Sikaona scored a lone goal to seal the win.
Head coach for the hosts, Kondwa Ikwanga, applauded his boys for the win as they put a grand fight in order to collect three points.
"We used the system that we used against Wanderers and we hard lapses in it but we can improve on that, in the second half we changed different approaches based on how Eagles were playing, we were defending and at some point we kept the ball so it was not an easy game, I have to applaude the boys."
