"WE REALLY PLAYED BADLY" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, was left not happy with how the team performed despite recording their first away victory as he said they failed to control their match.
Mponda said this after beating Baka City 0-2 at the Karonga Stadium but said the performance of his boys was not good.
"I'm happy for the result but not our play. The performance was not good as we failed to keep the ball, we could not control the game I think that needs to be looked into but after getting the first goal, we gave our friends the chance to keep the ball only that they failed to create chances as the back four was solid." Said Mponda.
He further said the journey is still on as they look to continue performing better in each and every game they are playing so that they should finish strong in the season.
The Bankers lead the table with 13 points from 5 games after recording 4 wins and a draw.
"THE PITCH IS NOT IN GOOD SHAPE" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, said the pitch at the Karonga Stadium is not in good shape but that will not be an excuse for them as they want three points on Saturday.
Mponda said this ahead of their match against Baka City on Saturday and said the rookies will be looking for maximum points but they need a win to consolidate their fine start of the season.
"We have prepared very well, we know we are playing on a bad pitch but that will not be our excuse as we want to win in this match so that we prove to ourselves that we have started well in the League." Said Mponda.
The Bankers will be playing their second away match as their first ended in a draw at Dedza Dynamos two weeks ago.
The Bankers are on top of the table with 10 points from 4 games having won three games and drawn once in the TNM Super League.

"WE COULD HAVE SCORED MORE THAN FIVE" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, said he was happy with the performance of his boys saying their response after conceding was great.
Mponda said this after team recorded a 5-1 win over MAFCO on Saturday and the goals could have exceeded if his boys had converted every chance found.
"It's a sweet victory and I am very happy to win I think in the first 10 minutes we were not us and we cteated a lot of spaces but once we conceded, the boys responded well and got the goal, we could even have scored more." Said Mponda.
Meanwhile, Mponda downplayed the chances of winning the league saying it's just too early to talk after four games and they need to be consistent so that they achieve that.
Following the win, the Bankers are now back on top of the league with 10 points from four games.
CHUNGA, GOTOTO AND NYONI MISS MAFCO CRASH
Silver Strikers will play MAFCO FC on Saturday at the Silver Stadium without their three attackers, Gift Chunga, Christopher Gototo and Duncan Nyoni, who are out due to injury.
The Bankers head coach, Peter Mponda, has confirmed about the news ahead of the match but has confirmed the coming of left back, Tatenda M'balaka and Striker, Atusaye Nyondo in their playing squad.
Meanwhile, Mponda is optimistic of collecting maximum points in the match as he said it is important to win when playing home.
“We are prepared for this game as we know how good they are since last season they spoiled our journey in cup action. MAFCO is a side that plays a strong physical type of game which we cannot match with but the boys are mentally strong and they can match the heat as we have prepared tactically as in how we can exploit them and get quick goals then get a result by the end of the day," said Mponda.
The Bankers are second on the table with 7 points f
"I'M SATISFIED WITH A DRAW" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, said he is satisfied with the team's 1-1 draw against Dedza Dynamos at the Dedza Stadium as he said one point from an away game is vital.
Mponda said this after the match and said coaches should not earn praise for the result but players, more especially Charles Chipala, for working to rescue a point in the match.
"I should thank the boys for how they played in the same, in the first half we performed poorly even that goal could have been defended but in the second half, we should thank the boys because they fought to get a goal and a point away from home is not bad." Said Mponda.
Following the draw, the Bankers remain second as they have 7 points from three games they have played this season.
"ITS A TRICKY GAME AGAINST BANGWE" - MPONDA
Silver Strikers head coach, Peter Mponda, said facing Bangwe All Stars will be one of the tough games to play as they are facing a good team.
Mponda said this on Friday ahead of their Sunday's meeting with Bangwe All Stars at the Silver Stadium and said his team is ready to keep momentum of winning games in the current season.
"It's a tricky one. We faced them during Pre-Season and they are a good team, good on the ball and their defense is hard to unlock but I think we are well prepared and with the speed that we have when attacking will help us to get through their defense but it's s tricky one." Said Mponda.
He said it is important for their team to win on Sunday as they don't want to drop any point when playing home and also show seriousness of competing for Championship this season.
Last season, the Bankers beat Bangwe 4-1 in the first round but had to be stunned at the Kamuzu Stadium in a 3-2 defeat in the second round.
